I am a spiritual author, coach, and former international development and humanitarian professional whose work has taken me across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and the Caribbean.
My book, "Spirituality of Flowers: What Flowers Do For Us," was launched in 2025 at the National Botanic Gardens in Dublin and has sparked widespread interest for its unique exploration of the deep connection between humans and flowers.
I hold an M.Sc. in Community Health from Trinity College, Dublin, a B.A. in Theology from Technological University Dublin and an M.A. in Applied Spirituality from South East Technological University, Ireland. I also hold a Diploma in Personal and Business Coaching and a Diploma in Foundation in Counselling.
With compassion and clarity, I am deeply passionate about helping individuals look within to awaken their inner resources, unlock their true potential, and live more fulfilled, peaceful lives in alignment with their purpose and in harmony with Mother Earth.
I love to read, write, travel, garden, walk in nature, sing in a choir, learn new things, and spend time with her family. Originally from Templetuohy, Co. Tipperary, I now live in Dublin.
My journey began with flowers during my childhood, growing up on a farm. I was enchanted by the scents, colours, and shapes of flowers; primroses, cowslips, daisies, daffodils, and lilacs. They stirred something deep within me, a feeling I couldn’t name, but one that never left me.
My life’s journey took me far from those early days among wildflowers. I spent over three decades working overseas, travelling across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Haiti. Even in the harshest environments, like famine-stricken Ethiopia, I would catch sight of vivid bougainvillaea, its brilliance a defiant burst of life in the face of suffering.
One moment remains forever etched in my heart: arriving in a Bangladeshi village to meet a group of women, among the poorest I had ever visited, to find them lining a dusty path with vibrant flowers. They had almost nothing, yet offered such beauty with grace and reverence. That gesture spoke more profoundly than any words could.
Everywhere I travelled, I noticed the quiet, constant presence of flowers in celebration and mourning, in rituals and rites of passage. My early enchantment evolved into a deeper curiosity. I studied herbalism and discovered that what looks similar on the surface can hold very different properties. Some flowers heal, some nourish, and some can harm. This subtle wisdom captivated me.
After taking early retirement in 2022, I completed an MA in Applied Spirituality. In this inward journey, reflecting on the calming effect my small flower garden had on me during lockdown, I began to ask a profound question: Why are humans, since time began, so drawn to flowers, from birth to death? I came to believe that, beyond their physical beauty, flowers carry a spiritual resonance, a wordless connection that moves us deeply in both joy and sorrow. This insight inspired my research question for my thesis: Is flower appreciation a participation in a Divine-human transformation process, and if so, how is it expressed? To my surprise, I found very little written on the spirituality of flowers, so I began my pioneering research.
This exploration led to the writing of my first book, "Spirituality of Flowers: What Flowers Do For Us," which I joyfully launched at the National Botanic Gardens, Glasnevin, Dublin, on 15 February 2025. My book is an invitation into a gentle unfolding through scent, colour, and form, into the deeper relationship flowers hold within Earth’s ecosystems and all of creation. It is both a walk-through wonder and a return to something we’ve always known.
Since then, like seeds scattered by flowers, invitations have bloomed. I’ve been asked to speak to various groups and will be presenting at the International Network for the Study of Spirituality’s global conference in June 2025 at the University of Northampton, UK.
Today, my passion is to help people realise their hidden potential through my talks and workshops, whilst reminding them of their interconnectedness with all life. By caring for Mother Earth, we care for ourselves; and by caring for ourselves, we care for all life.
I enjoyed over 37 years of international experience as a senior manager with Concern Worldwide, empowering individuals, communities and leaders to make meaningful, lasting changes. My work took me across Africa, Asia, the Middle East, and Haiti, where I supported long-term development initiatives and led emergency responses to crises, including floods, drought, earthquakes, disease outbreaks (such as cholera, Ebola, and COVID-19), and conflict.
Throughout my career, I managed diverse, high-performing teams, recruiting and overseeing up to nine direct reports and supporting approximately 800 staff. I was responsible for securing funding, delivering quality programmes, and managing budgets of up to €55 million, directly benefiting around two million people each year.
I also represented Concern Worldwide in key partnerships and advocacy efforts with donors, the Irish government, the media, and at UN fora. I served on the Steering Committee of the Irish Consortium on Gender-Based Violence (ICGBV), contributing to strategic dialogue and policy influence on critical global issues.
In 2022, I decided to step back from full-time work and invest in my personal growth. I completed an MA in Applied Spirituality and a Diploma in Personal and Business Coaching. This period of deep reflection helped me realise how, after years of prioritising the needs of others, I had rarely taken time to look within. I came to understand that true, sustainable impact must begin from a place of inner alignment and self-awareness.
Through this journey, I have discovered the transformative power of coaching and now dedicate myself to supporting others to tap into their hidden potential. My coaching practice is grounded in empathy, lived experience, and a deep belief that each person has the innate capacity to flourish. I guide individuals and groups to overcome limiting beliefs, reconnect with their purpose, align with their values, and move forward with clarity and confidence, whether they are seeking more fulfilment, stronger relationships, or professional growth.
I believe we can all become the creators of our own happiness and success when we shift from constant ‘doing’ to more intentional ‘being.’ We always have a choice, though we are not always aware of it. Coaching creates the space to explore those choices. By asking powerful questions and fostering self-awareness, coaching helps unlock confidence and courage, enabling people to make meaningful, life-enhancing changes.
I am passionate about helping people thrive, to enjoy more peace, clarity, and fulfilment in their lives.
I founded my coaching practice in 2023, offering one-to-one and group sessions. If you are ready to unlock your full potential and achieve your personal and/or your professional goals, I would be honoured to support you on your journey.
